Frequently asked questions
What is the lightest folding power wheelchair?
In our database, the lightest current model with its battery installed is the Forcemech Ultralite G10 at 27.8 lb. Several carbon-fiber chairs weigh 29–36 lb. Check the rider weight limit too, because some of the lightest chairs have lower limits.
Can I take a folding power wheelchair on a plane?
Usually, with the airline's approval. Under current IATA guidance, removed lithium-ion batteries must not exceed 300 Wh in total and travel in the cabin. Use the “I plan to fly” filter to show chairs whose published battery is 300 Wh or less.
How accurate are the range figures?
Range figures are manufacturer claims, usually measured on flat ground with a light rider. For daily planning, expect about two-thirds of the claimed range, and less on hills or with a heavier rider.
Is this comparison sponsored?
No. myvelogo does not accept payment from brands for placement. Specs come from manufacturer and authorized retailer pages, linked for every model.
How we collect the data
Specs are taken from the manufacturer’s website where available, otherwise from authorized US retailers, and checked on 29 Sep 2026. Where sources disagree, we use the manufacturer figure and note the conflict. Blank values mean the spec is not published; we don’t estimate them. Prices are advertised prices on the source page and change often.
